Plant world is located between Torquay and Newton Abbot and offers an oustanding collection of rare and exotic plants from around the world. The 4 acres of lanscaped gardens has been called 'Devon's little outdoor Eden'. Representing each of five continents it offers an extensive collection of indigenous trees, shrubs and flowers. A large mature cottage garden completes the collection.
Established in 1985, Plant world is the culmination of a plantsmans vision and has been featured on BBC's 'Gardners World', ITV's 'Gardens for All' and Channel 4's 'Bloom'. Magnificient views over the Teign Valley, from Dartmoor to the sea provide an incredible backdrop to what will surely be a memorable visit. There is also a lovely cafe and shop with outstanding views.
Open 7 days a week from 9.30am - 5.00pm from April through to Mid October.
You can reach Plant world by car from Torquay by taking the back road to Newton Abbot, through rolling countryside, approximately 1.5 miles from Barton. Alternatively take the Milber and Combeinteignhead road from the Penn Inn roundabout at Newton Abbot, turn immediately right (50 yards) at the next traffic lights, carry on for 1.5 miles. Plant world is on your left after the Aquatic centre. Plant World accepts the Discovery Travel Network Pass Card.
